Drunks and drug addicts are now Leaders in the Body of Christ--- M. R. Popoola

During yesterday's Service and in continuation of the just concluded New Testament Christian Mission International's Leadership Conference, Pastor M. R. Popoola lamented the type of leaders found in the body of Christ today.

Speaking on the qualities spiritual leaders must possess through the help of the Holy Spirit base on 1 Timothy 3:3, the clergyman stressed that many so called spiritual leaders of today need to come to the Cross of Christ for true deliverance from their addiction to alcohol and hard drugs before they can become a true leaders of the gospel.

Base on the above scripture, he revealed that these set of leaders are in bondage, hence the reason they end up destroying the work of God committed into their hands. The cleric therefore implored church leaders to desist from alcohol and drugs, noting that what  Bible warned Christians from taking is alcoholic drinks and hard drugs and not ordinary wine as misconstrued by many.

At the closing of the Service, the Reverend mentioned other leadership qualities including gentleness, being considerate of others, patience, not a lover of money among others that Christians should possess. He however emphasized that these fruits of the Spirit cannot be cultivated and attained by human efforts but only by the help of the Holy Spirit of God.
